They blew the door in

Treats for two very patient dogs: the cutting board Jon used to chop up the cooked chicken. Not looking forward to Coco’s farts after this.

Spring trees letterpress print

This was one of the many, many goodies Jon brought back from Yee-Haw Industries, and it was the perfect inspiration I needed to draw up plans for our bedroom. We’ve never really gotten around to decorating our bedroom since we moved into this house a year and a half ago. A few things are up [...]

For now her name is Puppy

….. UPDATE: Just talked to Carol (Monday afternoon), and they have narrowed it down to a couple of names. She assures me they will have a decision by tonight, and I will let you know the minute she tells me. If she doesn’t choose one by tonight I’m going to go over to her house [...]

Barock the Vote 08 poster

This is one of my favorite things that Jon brought back from Yee-Haw Industries in Knoxville, and it will soon be going up in the window of our front room. Although I know that it will have little to no effect on the outcome of the vote in the reddest state on earth.

Little pig, little pig, let me in

Usually when we let the dogs out after their dinner they wrestle for a good twenty minutes out on the back lawn. But not when they know that Jon is inside cooking chicken for our dinner.

Leopard Lane

Leta isn’t yet old enough to appreciate that “High School Musical 3″ was filmed at the high school down the street, home of the leopards. Or that her mom always craned her neck when driving by that school to see if she could ever spot Zac Efron without his shirt on.

A furious magician

I was reading through some of my favorite websites yesterday when I stumbled across a YouTube link on Metafilter that pretty much screwed up the rest of my day. Jon heard me playing it on my computer and was so disturbed by the sound of it that he walked over and we watched it together, [...]

Hand-printed letterpress cards

While Jon was in Knoxville he got to stop into Yee-Haw Industries (Etsy shop here), a shop that specializes in products such as letterpress posters promoting special events, music acts and theatre shows to handmade, woodcut, fine art prints. All of their work is custom-to-order, designed, set, and pressed by hand. And Jon went NUTS. [...]

Blissed out

Seen here enjoying the final remnants of one large rawhide bone, ignoring the plaintive cries of the miniature Australian Shepherd off to the left who is currently taking out her frustration on the basket containing all her toys. As if destroying an item that ought not be destroyed is somehow showing him what’s what. What [...]

IT’S. HAPPENING.

The berries are here. And we all know what that means. It means there’s a good chance that in two weeks Jon is going to be shoveling snow off the driveway. And I will be inside with my head in the oven.
