Kishi Bashi is the solo effort of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Kaoru Ishibashi who has toured as a violinist for Regina Spektor and of Montreal. His own songs are playful, orchestral adventures full of texture and relentless energy. The song I’m featuring is called “Bright Whites” off of the album 151a, and not only is it brilliantly catchy but it’s also a bit reminiscent of The Beatles. That’s never a bad thing. Unless you don’t like The Beatles and if that’s the case then I’m sorry your mama dropped you on your head.
