It’s odd to think that TRAX didn’t exist before 1999 and that the funding to make it happen pretty much hinged on winning the bid for the 2002 Winter Olympics. And that protestors showed up at the groundbreaking insisting that it would be both dangerous and a waste of money. Thank you, Salt Lake City, for ignoring those nutters and bringing clean and affordable public transportation to those who needed it.
