Leta saw Marlo teasing the dogs last night with an open bag of goldfish crackers and decided she’d insert herself into the chaos. She sat right down next to Chuck, wrapped her arm around his neck and said, “I love him, mom.”

I doubt this would have ever happened had she not seen the adoration Marlo lavishes on both dogs on a pretty much constant basis. I hope this influence starts to flow both ways and Marlo will see that reading and writing are worthwhile hobbies. And maybe one day when people ask her what her name is she’ll stop answering, “Three.”
