hi heather,
on your "stop bush" photo from yesterday..... (the comments are now closed) we have that here in Ireland too. I've seen a few stop signs with "Bush" spray painted under the stop sign. i'd help you in getting rid of Bush if I was allowed to vote in the American election. Unfortunately, I am an Irish citizen and therefore not eligible.

cool plant!
I like your hair, and I want to say that I love that you got over 500 comments on pooping, and no-one mentioned the Red Sox.

No idea what plant that is.
RE: red hair. Red fades faster than any other color in the hair spectrum. The Septic Tank of '02 "grabbed"; drugstore color over salon highlights without a filler = me with black ends in '93. The new color looks great, very Kate Winslet. :)

I won't be the first, nor will I be the last (at only #15 or so), but I'll say it anyway: the hair is fabulous.
I think your brunette side is so cool. It has this cool effect that somehow works with your skintone more than the blonde.
If I had a card with a ten on it, I'd be holding it.

Great photo as always! You're making me want to take a photo every day.
I think those plants are called "hens and chicks," or at least that's what I learned to call them as a kid in Missouri.

Really great picture. What about a dooce coffee table photoraphy book? You could put some captions and use some of the pithier (sp?) comments from your photos too?

Looks like a plant I have in my garden. Neat colour. If Canadians could vote in the American election, Bush would be gone, gone, gone.... whoa, o, o ...

It may go by a different name elsewhere, but here in the Upper Plains we call that plant "Hen and Chicks"... see how there is a mama plant surrounded by offshoots? It's one of my favorites. I have it growing on either side of my front porch steps.

I've heard it called hens and chicks as well. Hope you're having a super day :)

Yesterday was nice. I'm thankful that we all got to voice our different opinions. (even though I called someone a "math-lover" and I'm not proud of that)
On the subject of hair- I found this product called RUSK DEEP SHINE MARINE. It's a leave-in glosser type thing- and OH MY GOD- it is so awesome. I have weird quazi-wavy nappified hair. This stuff makes it look and feel like silk. You muuust try it dahlings. :)

Those are hens and chicks that are out of control. I love the look of them, but as a whole they are invasive plants that have no respect to their fellow flora...

They're Donkey Tail Spurge. I planted some this spring, only to later discover that they're toxic. I guess that's one way to keep the dog out the flowerbed.

...just like REAL hens and chicks.
OK, I've been sitting on my hands about this since the redesign, but the English teacher in me is screaming to escape. It should read "I take photos EVERY DAY (two words) with a Nikon D70."
Everyday (one word) is an adjective meaning "ordinary, usual."
Thank you. I'm sorry I'm such an irritating nerd.

My great-grandmother used to have a lot of those growing in the front flower beds. Pretty. As is the hair.
