And then my father had a coronary

That's me and Jana Bouck Remy from Pilgrim Steps speaking on a panel at the Sunstone Symposium on Saturday night. Sunstone is a frequently liberal publication that discusses Mormonism and Mormon issues rather frankly, and many in the faith disdain it, my family among them. They asked me to join a panel of bloggers that would discuss our websites and our boundaries concerning what we will and will not share online, and although I do not consider myself Mormon anymore I think they were interested in how my Mormon upbringing informs what I write. I was riveted by Jana's words, and if you read this entry on her website you'll see why. She is one of the many women I have met because of this website and the opportunities this website has afforded me who have improved my life with their words. So glad I got to meet her.

(Photo by Jon who was sitting in the front row, and when he got up to ask a question he imitated the THX explosion of noise that precedes movies in theaters. And it was awesome.)
