So our neighborhood is being overrun by an angry army of chipmunks and squirrels who like to taunt everyone's pets. BY SCREECHING ALL DAY LONG. Meaning they like to taunt me. Recently a good online acquaintance of mine, greenthumb, he who has set me straight on all things botanical, sent me a link to this set of Flickr photos, an astounding series of photos of chipmunks and squirrels and groundhogs. So I got the bright idea that I'd set out some nuts on our deck and see if I could lure any of these forest creatures close enough to get a good photo. Except twice now I've gone outside to call the dogs in only to see Coco with her paws up on the railing EATING THE NUTS. No wonder the squirrels are so pissed at her.

This morning I saw this little guy gnawing on a weed across the street, and this was as close as I could get before he dashed away. Not a great capture, but I'm working on it!
