A light dusting

It snowed in the evening on the last day of September, and then yesterday morning I took this photo of the deck right outside our kitchen. This does not bode well in terms of what this winter is going to be like, but I can't help but feel like there is some symbolism here because it coincided with my Granny's death. Like packing up and moving on. And I think every time in the next several months when I feel like waving my fist at Mother Nature, I'll instead come back to this picture and just shut up.
