Back in 2005 Jon and two of his friends took a road trip from Ohio down through Kentucky and into Tennessee. They stopped at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, and while there he picked up this excellent collection of photographs by Annie Leibovitz as a birthday gift for me. It's an absolutely stunning anthology that includes portraits of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, and Brian Wilson, plus so many others in American music, and it has inspired my own photography. I can't thank Jon enough for lugging this almost six-pound book on a plane from Memphis to Salt Lake City.
