Best way to roast the broomstick. Must try. Five Stars.
  • Jo

Nope. They sure can’t get cuter than that.

  • ellen

I’m glad there isn’t an eleventh commandment that states “thou shalt not covet thy neighbors camera”?
You could just add it to the reasons I’m going to hell.

  • not sure how it’s possible that they keep getting cuter.

  • Erin

    I love Leta’s fuzzy head!

  • HOW is it possible for a child to be that cute? HOW!?!?!?!

  • em

your husband is h-o-t hot. and that baby’s pretty cute, too. add chuck and this picture would be too much to bear.

  • traci

ahhhhhh, those cheeks! they almost venture into the jowly realm. i can see why her face would require daily munching.

  • Wow! He certainly looks Scottish in this photo.

  • They are too cute! Not to be outdone, I had to post the two loves of my life on my site. (My daughter is a week younger than yours)
So glad the MRI went well. Your family was in my prayers.

PS: Does Leta have teeth yet? My daughter doesn’t and I’m trying to figure out if I should feed her Cheerios and Twizzlers.

  • Gavinator

Wow. Gorgeous. The baby ain’t too bad, either!!! I’ll say to you what everyone said to me when my baby was born: you didn’t have a baby… you just grew another husband in a petri dish.

  • Siobhan

So so cute! I’m so glad you got good news from Leta’s doctor, too.

  • Tracy

Sure, not enough that we madly covet gorgeous Leta the Edible… now you insist on making your entire female readership (and probably a few of the guys) crush on your rockstar husband, too. Dirty pool, chica! The doppelgãnger combo is giving me the vapors.

Mind you, that’s not to say you shouldn’t keep ’em coming… Would love to see you try out the remote and catch a pic of your whole family (Dooce and Chuck included).

  • You are very blessed…

  • I love the picture. They sure are two of a kind!

I was looking through your photo archives and I could help but notice an ad for “W” ketchup under “Requisite Weekly Dosage of Letaness”. I couldn’t resist to click to see what it was and ironically, it is republican ketchup! lol.

Besides that all, I totally love your photos and I am glad that you added this feature to the site. You take great pictures. I just got a nice digital camera a month ago and I can’t take pictures worth squat.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful baby with us.

    Love in Christ,
    Amber <><

  • Peas in a pod. What a lovely photo!

  • Lori

Now that you’ve been posting blogging style, I come back here every hour, like a rat to the random treat button.

  • Beautiful Picture. Jon always looks different in every picture. The three of you certainly photograph well. Much love to you guys from LA.

Loved the part about Leta loopy drunk. A friend of mine–her boy was about about 18 months when he fell and broke his leg, and for whatever reason, I guess to keep him entirely stable, they put him in a whole lower body cast–both legs. She had taken him to the grocery store and propped him up in the back, strapped in between the bags of groceries. Eric got hold of a bottle of mint extract and drank the WHOLE THING. Drunk. D.R.U.N.K.
Laughing, laughing, laughing. Ann was horrified and called poison control. They laughed at her!! They told her to just let him sleep it off.

    Drunk babies are FUNNY!!!

  • aww, look at those little tufts of hair. I just wanna tug ’em. Not hard, just a little 🙂 Thank God she’s ok, and we’ll be praying for her continued health. Only 24.5 more years of her worrying to you death. You should put up a ticker 😉

  • you are the second luckiest woman in the world.

no, scratch that, you and i are tied for first place in that contest. what a completely lickable pair those two are.

  • Wow! they really are starting to look alike, no? But I also think she has elements of you too.

  • Y’all purty.

  • Lesley

Leta looks like a beautiful flower that just popped out of the ground.

  • Christen

    So beautiful 🙂

  • angie

I think the most beautiful thing about this picture–besides her little fingers on his collar–is how peaceful they both look. Jon is looking at you with such love in his eyes; you are indeed a blessed family.

  • wow – what a gorgeous pair! Doing a little dance that Leta is fine and dandy, and of course I giggled when I read, ‘my baby was drunk’.

also, may I second the notion that Leta looks SO CUTE in her really girly clothes.

  • Sure she looks EXACTLY like Jon but I think somewhere deep down if you look closely she has Chuck’s eyes?!!!! Actually in all honesty I think she looks like Jon but does have your eyes.

    Poor Chuck…no resemblance!

  • Leta looks so unbelievably cute in that picture. I think that’s my favorite picture of her so far.
Her eyes seem brighter than before.

  • What amazing eye color. She’s got that sultry catalog model look DOWN. She does look like her daddy.

  • HoneyBee

To quote Gene Simmons, “Ouch”. That man is H-O-T!
I am so into your blog, especially the photos of Leta, that I share them with my coworkers. So, there are atleast 15 women in Az and one dude who have watched your daugther grow. It’s even at the point that some ask if there are new pics. Now, I can tell them “yes” on a daily basis. How great is that!
Also, thank you for being so open about your struggles with mental illness. My husband has been diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder. Reading about your struggles has helped me understand his, even though your illnesses are so different. Reading your blog has helped me to become a better wife. My marriage will make it, in part, because of you. Thank you.

  • susu

Dude must you be tired of all the “awws” and “how cute..”. But I can only agree. Aww, how cute.

  • Oh my! I never saw it until you put them side by side like that!! They are SO twins!

  • I’ve been a Dooce fan forever. I’ve loved watching Leta grow and your and Jon’s adventures. This is a gorgeous photo. It is so nice to see such a sweet Daddy and his baby. I’m so glad you share the way you do. I’ve worried about you and thought about you often during the last few weeks, but looking at this photo it is easy to see that everything will be alright for you. You are indeed a lucky, lucky, blessed woman and I am so happy for you.

Heather — I think you should tally these comments to make a list — those who will babysit and those who will husbandsit.

Okay, I see my bus to hell just arrived. Must be going. Ta ta.

  • Camille

I’m such a sap, I always get all teary when I see a good picture of my husband with our kids.

  • count me in for husband-sitting. :o]

  • Oh, wow, it’s the eyes. That is the cutest picture I have ever seen. Can I babysit?

  • amy

Hi. I’m Heather B. Armstrong, and this used to be called mommy blogging. But then they started calling it Influencer Marketing: hashtag ad, hashtag sponsored, hashtag you know you want me to slap your product on my kid and exploit her for millions and millions of dollars. That’s how this shit works. Now? Well… sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
