During the summer Leta’s weekly piano lessons lengthen from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. I guess we could drop her off, drive back home, and then turn right around to go pick her back up again, but I love to take that time alone with Marlo. During the 45-minute lessons we have just enough time to hit Whole Foods for dinner and a quick hello to Dane. During this 90-minute lesson we did that usual ritual but then we also had enough time to walk leisurely along the pond at Liberty Park and watch the ducks. Or, you know, ducksth.
She attempted to chase some who were eating bread along the bank, and even though I warned her that they wouldn’t let her get close she tried in vain anyway. Those poor animals. Looking up and seeing this lumbering four-year-old lunging at them screaming, “Hey! Come here! Come here ducksth! COME HERE!”
