Castle Hill

While in Massachusetts over the weekend I got to visit the U.S. National Historic Landmark known as Castle Hill, a sprawling, magnificent estate in Ipswich overlooking the ocean. You can read all about the history of it at its wikipedia page, but for pop culture fans it’s noteworthy because major portions of The Witches of Eastwick and Flowers in the Attic were filmed there.

Yeah. Flowers in the Attic. I posted a photo of the front of the house on Instagram, and I love how I and all the commenters were immediately transported back to POWDERED DONUTS. If you don’t know the reference, that’s probably a good thing. You’re using that part of your brain for things other than stories about incest.
