Seems the hexagram guy now is now pouting…he’s put up an email link, but I found a cached page on the internet with his real one:

  • CSSZENGARDEN?! Why haven’t I heard of this before?!

Now I wish even more that I had talent to make beautiful looking sites.

  • B

In defense of Hex’s writing: he is attempting to do 50,000 words in 30 days. http://www.nanowrimo.org. I saw some of the comments that people left before the site was taken down. No offense but don’t you guys have something better to do on a sunday? Though it did work and he did take the plagerized site down. but sheesh glad some of you wern’t on my playground in grade school.

  • dooce, do you have a counter on your site? because the copy-cat does now – so I guess technically, it’s YOUR counter since you’re directing most of your traffic to that site! woo! you so popular!

ps. i want katie’s dress. the puffed sleeves, the cross-ribbon on the front – absolutely beeeeuuuutttiieeeefullllll!!

    🙂

  • Meg

Hmm…CSSZENGARDEN isn’t really all that similar to dooce.com.

  • I love this picture Heather! It’s classic.

  • CSS Zen Garden seems to be a site that features the CSS designs of hundreds of different designers, all with the same content. You click on a menu to see the different designs…

I guess imitation is the best form of flattery. It’s still kind of creepy, though.

  • I am amused that the Google ads included a site advertising a “Daniel Boone Bowie Knife.”

(The conflation of historical persons only adds to my amusement.)

  • jessielee

for those who may wonder, there is indeed a hooters in utah. it’s located in midvale, which is just a part of the suburban sprawl that surrounds salt lake city.

  • Go ahead. Call me an idiot.

But my first thought at said hacker’s site was … why the HELL do nanowrimo? I’ll never understand that “event.”

    Then I noticed the layout.

    Doh.

But I STILL think I’m write in both.

    And rock on, lil’ princess.

  • lekki

what are buffalo wings? We don’t have them here.

  • Good story. WHO did you say got the last wing? In the end?

  • Catherine

I live in Buffalo. The wings here are GREAT. Everyone is fat here because it snows all the time and we eat huge amounts of wings all winter. We also have Buffalo Wing Soup; which is essentially Cream of Chicken with a bunch of Frank’s Red Hot added at the end of cooking. It is very good. We also put Frank’s Red Hot diluted with a touch of vinegar on sandwiches. Hooray Buffalo!!!

  • If you would like to know the origins of the Buffalo Wing please go to http://www.anchorbar.com. It is a nice place that used to be a prostitute hangout/ dive bar back in the days of old.

  • I would love to see a picture of buffalo wings make it to the daily photo entry. Anyone with me?

  • Yeah Buffalo wings!! I’m with you!

  • Leon

    My day can completely blow

……and yet, all it seems to take to bring it back together is a sassy tongued princess flanked by your friendly neighborhood Cujo (does that say something about me?)

    Now that’s photographic genius

Thanks for the laugh Dooce, and thank Chuckles for all the chuckles

  • Did I miss a mob mentality taking action on the internet? Was it an ugly site…I mean sight? Group dynamics can be scary at times.

  • Lekki,

Buffalo wings are just purely yummerific.

They are chicken wings, but with a nice spicy zing. mmm mmm. Why do they call them “buffalo wings”? Now, I’m not too sure, but I think that it has to do with their origin (Buffalo, NY)..where the wings are soooo good.

There is a link up there about the origin, but I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet. Just about to make my way there.

    Love in Christ,
Amber <>< P.S. Dooce you should really take a picture of the wings. Make us more hungry, why don't you? :)

  • There was an earthquake in Utah. You OK?

  • HoneyBee

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-11-07-earthquake-coloutah_x.htm
They are, likely, perfectly fine. You, actually, probably knew about it before they did. An eathquake with a magnitutde 4.1 is not that strong (I lived in So Cal during many quakes, most a lot stronger and closer to me than this -I think- was to them.) The quake was in the south east corner of Utah, they are in the north/central part of the state. http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/maps/utah_map.html (If memory serves, they are in or around Salt Lake. Forgive me if I am wrong.)
They probably didn’t feel a thing.
    I REALLY hope I’m right…
Utah has earthquakes! I hate earthquakes! They are why I left So Cal. he Earth just Is Not supposed to move if my feet are on it!

  • its obviously a photo of Chuck….with accessory princess

  • I am just getting all caught up and I LOVE the family picture and love love love George’s “interesting” post!! MORE GEORGE!!

(Kidding, Heather. I still adore you.)

And also, you use duct tape to shut up a baby? That is SUCH a good idea. And here I’d always tried stuffing their mouths with cotton balls. Thanks for the tip!!

    (Also, I’m kidding.)

  • lily

yesterday picture was soo cute! today’s as well, but oh there was SO much cuteness posted yesterday 🙂

  • stacy

What’s all this talk about stolen stuff from Dooce’s website? huh? Am I missing something?

  • annakay

that story totally shows how much you love him. because you could have put TWO extra wings on the tray and made it even-steven.
