Although we are currently in a cabin in Wisconsin our drive up here winded up through the eastern part of Minnesota, also known as “Land of 10,000 Lakes.” They so weren’t kidding about that. There are lakes everywhere, and because the winter was so long and the spring was so wet they looked like they were going to reach up and swallow entire roads.
I guess this weather also helped to incubate some of the world’s largest and most ferocious mosquitos HOLY GOD. One night here and Leta’s legs looked like a connect-the-dots drawing of huge welts. They are far worse here than anywhere I visited in Southeast Asia:
You guys. The mosquitos in Minnesota. I just saw one pick up a truck and twirl it over its head.
