the smell of my desperation has become a stench

Some people say there’s a golden light

I’ve cut back the girls’ screen time after school by about 70%, and the results have been remarkable. I stocked up on a ton of crayons, markers, construction paper, and every Play-Doh tool imaginable. Play-Doh has become their favorite activity by far, and Leta actually fashioned a spot on replica of an iPhone. Ironic, but still. They’re using their brains and hands in a different way, and I’m hearing, “I’M SO BORED,” pretty much never now. I love the light on Marlo’s face here and that it’s not coming from an iPad.

I think this makes me a good parent. So gross.

That’s how this shit works. Now? Well… sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
