Every Mother Counts

Bassin-Bleu

At the end of my week in Haiti our group traveled to Jacmel, a town on its southern coast. Hidden in the hills above this town is a gorgeous collection of waterfalls and basins called Bassin-Bleu. Local guides assist the hike to the top, and to get to this beautiful alcove we had to use a rope to repel down the side of a cliff. Some in our group took a dip in this pool, but I was more than happy to stay dry and snap photos along the side. Such a gem and one of those moments when I slowed down my breathing to take in what I was seeing.
