the smell of my desperation has become a stench

Along Page street

Tuesday morning I had a late business breakfast at a tea house in the Lower Haight on Page Street. Not a cloud in the sky, and that afternoon the temperature climbed to 70 degrees. Whenever I visit San Francisco and gush about how much I love California, my friends always ask me why I don’t pick up and move. And I say, you know, my soul longs to be here. This feels like home to me. But the Avon World Sales leader lives in Utah and so do all of the cousins and friends of my kids. My heart has to stay in Utah.
