The causeway

On the right side of this photo you can see part of the seven-mile causeway that connects Antelope Island to Syracuse, Utah. I had heard that the bugs out there this time of year can be particularly bad, but I didn’t see any until one very specific spot while leaving the island on that causeway. It was like driving through a hail storm. The windshield was coated in bug guts, and the front of my white car was black with a glaze of dead bug bodies. I’m surprised the hood wasn’t dented from the force of the swarm.

SO! If you are headed out there any time soon DO NOT ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOWS.
