Tyrant’s good friend Nestor has become a good friend of the family and a couple of nights ago he brought over his violin and played a duet with Leta as she played a piece on the piano. It was as you might imagine quite magical. Afterward he let both girls have a go at the violin, and as much as I love hearing my girls sing, I’m not sure I could handle hearing either of them practicing this instrument. Don’t get me wrong, it’s usually the introduction of stringed instruments in a song that make me tear up immediately, but WHOA all those parents of those musicians who had to suffer the hours and weeks and months of practice. They win. They get the gold star. I hope they have really good insurance to cover the meds for their PTSD.
