Identical twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin formed this indie rock duo in Calgary, Alberta back in 1995 when both were only fifteen years old (their resemblance to my friend Cole is nothing short of astounding). Heartthrob is their seventh studio release and it is pop music magnificence.
Both twins are openly gay and are outspoken advocates for LGBT equality. I adore this part of the ABOUT page on their website:
The sisters enjoy reading, hair, ships, vampires, hot dogs, talking and relating to elderly people, self-soothing, rearranging furniture, and giving excellent advice.
First up, “Closer”
And next, my favorite on the whole album, “Now I’m All Messed Up,” a song I cannot stop listening to, a song I cannot stop singing into my hairbrush while dancing in front of the mirror. Leta loves this one, too.
