the smell of my desperation has become a stench

A lovely surprise

Second day of meetings here in San Francisco. I normally only work on my laptop when I travel, and as I was finishing up some email I decided to clear out a few things when I stumbled on a folder of photos of Marlo as a newborn that I had stored deep inside some other folders. Here she is two days old, just home from the hospital, sharing a moment with the person she turned into a sister.

You probably already guessed that the bedazzled hands that are holding her are those of my magnificent mother, The Avon World Sales Leader. You don’t show up to hold your new granddaughter wearing just any jewelry.

Heather B. Armstrong

Hi. I’m Heather B. Armstrong, and this used to be called mommy blogging. That’s how this shit works. Now? Well… sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
