Here Chuck is modeling a few more of the things I bought at the MWEDO fair trade shop in Arusha, Tanzania: two bracelets (one of which Marlo almost bent in half) and beaded flip flops which will be a staple of my wardrobe this summer. Normally I like to bring home a local candy for the girls when I travel because little trinkets always end up at the bottom of some toy box never to be seen again, and candy goes away very quickly. I don’t have to organize candy. But I adored the work of the women who made everything in that shop and would have bought double or triple what I did but didn’t have the space to get it home. Lucky for Chuck.
