the smell of my desperation has become a stench

Pre-flight excitement

Very early last Sunday morning before heading out to Massachusetts I had to make sure these guys were fed and set up for the next few hours. By “set up” I mean I made sure they performed their morning business and then I had them follow me around the house for a few laps. They hadn’t seen my luggage yet and so were thrilled with the activity, certain that it would end with a treat. And it did. They got a few biscuits, and then I brought my suitcase downstairs. Coco’s reaction is to sit down right next to it and protect it until I leave the house. Chuck? Chuck sees my luggage and then paces. If I’m not looking he will walk into the living room, lift his leg and pee on the back of the couch.

No one is more surprised than I am when I say that my loyalty is very swiftly shifting toward a certain insane herder.

Hi. I’m Heather B. Armstrong, and this used to be called mommy blogging. But then they started calling it Influencer Marketing: hashtag ad, hashtag sponsored, hashtag you know you want me to slap your product on my kid and exploit her for millions and millions of dollars. That’s how this shit works. Now? Well… sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.
